Thomas Winder of Trinity Southwest University visited recently with news of his excavation in the ancient city of Sodom.  Pottery pieces that were dug up in the ancient city were examined and found to have been influenced by something that resembled a flash of heat of at least 2500 degrees Fahrenheit.  Many pieces found in the tell were dated to the time of Sodom, and the newer pieces showed that no one lived there for 700 years after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.  Some of these recent digs confirm stories of the Old Testament that many take for myth.

In 2003, the IOC youth went on a mission to Mexico and met Ps. Hugo and Martha Navarette.  The outreach ministered to young boys, and men with soccer, and young girls and women with creative crafts.  In the evening services were held and the community responded with excitement and joy.  One man got out of jail earlier in the week, was restored to Christ, and by the end of the week was helping out the worship team.  Ps. Hugo and Martha were very encouraged and thankful for the bond of love God had established between the groups.  Recently Ps. Hugo and Martha visited IOC because of their "spiritual need" to see and receive love from IOC.
